An update and a double date!!

So first, my mouse update.
We caught three so far. The first of which was on a sticky trap, one that had been around for months. It was under the kitchen sink and I decided to move it to the space between the fridge and cupboards. Apparently, it REALLY wanted off that sticky trap because it wound up in the middle of the kitchen floor. Guess who found it....Cara. She came running down the hall screaming, "MOOOOUUUSSSSSSEEEEEE!!!!!!!" and crying. Poor baby. Daddy got it and threw it outside and then found another in the electronic trap. Out he went too. The next morning, another in the electronic trap. So that's that. We are slowly eradicating the mice.

On Saturday night, we went out on a double date. I had two Sangrias at dinner. Those were sooooo yummy. I was feeling pretty good after those. Laughing a lot and having a great time with our new friends. Alcohol tends to help my shyness. :) Unfortunately the movie selection was a buzzkill and actually made me a little motion sick in the beginning. We went to an old theatre and found that the movie was in the "screening room." It was about the size of my living room. People were packed in like sardines. It was a bit uncomfortable to say the least. If at 5'2" I was cramped, that's saying something! Anyways, it was "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus." It was very odd. The acting was good but the story line was all over the place and I never really did "get it." All in all, it was a really good night. Sloooooowly making friends here. It has taken me long enough huh??

Hoping to engage in mass murder.....

.....of mice.

Yes, the mice have me SO upset that I am greatly looking forward to their death(s). Our house sat empty from May until Oct when we moved in. We have tried regualr traps and only caught one tiny mouse two months ago. I saw one again last night and I find their nasty droppings in the kitchen and living room. They make sounds at night that keep me up. We even have the plug in things that send out some sort of signal to repel them. Nothing works. So I have two electronic traps now and two little circular traps and lots of sticky traps plus the plug in things. I want them to go away and never come back...since that hasn't happened, well I just want them to die. I have kids and cannot afford to have their germs in my house!! So yes, I am going to be a horrible person and wish for their swift deaths tonight. The sooner they die the sooner I can get a full nights' sleep. Guess I am evil. :)

Happy New Year!!

I am really hoping I can get back into this...
It has really been a rough couple of months for us. Lots of sickness. Some drama. Then many blessings....
My baby turned 3, can you even believe that? I can't. I am sort of sad and sort of relieved. Mixed feelings. I want a bit of my independence back but I mourn the loss of being depended on. Don't know if that makes sense.
I have another baby turning 5 in a few weeks....we are registering for kindergarten next week. It's so unreal!
I am kind of feeling a little lost. These kids have been my entire being and purpose for so long. I have been a SAHM for over 8 years, beginning in Oct 2001 when my stepdaughter came to live with us. I was 20 years old. I kind of feel like I gave up the wild, independent stage of life and replaced it with kids. Which is okay...but leaves me wondering exactly who I am now. I will be 29 next month and I have a 7 yr old, soon to be 5 yr old and a 3 yr old. I have NO regrets. Now is the time for me to begin thinking about my purpose in life though; aside from being a mother, who am I? I am afraid I do not know the answer to this question yet. Kind of scary if you ask me! I have ambitions. I want to help people. I don't know exactly how yet though. I am not sure how much I can handle. I would love to be a nurse or a psychologist but at times I feel I can do just as much doing smaller things. I know its awful but I cannot imagine so much time in school. I love to learn but I love to learn while doing! Not that I am a bad student, I am an exceptionally good one, but its SO much dedication. I think I am a commitment-phobe! Its a wonder I got married huh? :)
So that is where I am right now....and I don't feel alone. I think a lot of people think about their path in life during this time of the year. It's a New Year, an apt name for the season of resolutions and re-examination of your life. So I resolve to be happy, as I always do. No matter what. I am the life force of my family right now and it's the best thing I can do for everyone, to just be happy.
