In my defense I have a child with pneumonia and an allergic reaction to zithromax and my grandfather just died. :(
I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and I am waiting for the day I can be thankful for a happy, healthy family...all at once!!

EEEEEEK!!
Okay, so first of all, the sickness has *almost* left us......it has been over two weeks. Yup. There is still a lot of coughing going on but I hope we are all on the mend finally.
Now on to my post.........
It is 1241am. I am sitting on my couch waiting for my dear husband to get done with his WoW nonsense and come upstairs so that I can clean the kitchen. Wanna know why? Well, it's because there is a mouse under the stove. We were warned by the homeowners that this happens in the fall as it gets colder and also because there is a farm behind us. I have always been afraid of mice. My dad's house in PA had mice and my grandma's house in VA had them too! She'd warn me not to get up at night after I was in bed because the mice would be out!!! I cannot tell you how many nights I waited to pee until the sun came up because I was so terrified!! In our last two houses there were also mouse incidents. This is not something I am not used to by any means, but I am still just as scared of them as I was when I was little. *Sigh* They aren't scared of anything, let me tell you!! And they don't give a damn about the sticky traps either. I despise the creatures and I am not ashamed to tell you I imagine any and all ways to get rid of them. So this one has been here a few weeks, mostly under the oven. It peeps its nose out of the drawer under there at me. I saw it run across the floor in the kitchen once too. I WANT IT TO GOOOOOO AAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAY!!!!!!!
So here I sit......waiting on that mean old man to come up here with me just in case it should taunt me any more. Did I mention that I hate mice?

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah......
I am indeed aware that I am a sucky blogger. :) The sickies have just about left us but this momma has an awful ear infection. I am on the Lortabs right now, half a Lortab to be precise. So, a quick update-
Halloween was short, but fun. It was VERY rainy!!
School stuff has been great, parties galore and our first trip to the skating rink and play place.
Finally, like I said, my ear HURTS like a mofo but onward I go....cleaning, doing laundry and throwing a Stouffer's lasagna into the oven for dinner.
Can you believe it is NOVEMBER???! Where did this year go?? Time to shop for Christmas. Already. My mom goes to Nashville with her girlfriends every year to shop and this year I think I am going too, so that should be fun. That is, if this ear ever gets better.

S- to the -ICKness going on here...
We went and had a fairly decent weekend at ATC Fri-Sun. It wasn't the best ever. Mainly because whoever planned it made a few mistakes along the way and because we are moving from one location to the next we really didn't "belong" anywhere; I just didn't feel like I fit in like I have before. Also, I am the "boss's wife" now and apparently that gives people the right to make up their minds about you before they even meet you. Sad about that but I WILL do my best to change it. Also, I fail to see the point in having a conference in VA Beach so far from the actual beach that no one has the time to go see it!! Anyways.....
We got back to my mom's around 5pm yesterday only to learn that our youngest had spiked a fever about half an hour prior to our arrival. Hmm.... She was going fast by the time we got there. So I did what any paranoid mom does and I sent the older two home with Daddy and I took my baby straight to the germ-riddled ER because I KNEW she was sick enough to rationalize that risk. Flu positive. YAY. And when I say sick, this baby is SICK. I feel so awful for her. The second-oldest spiked a fever today when I was, again, at the ER with the youngest because her cough and wheeze was so bad it made her throw up. :( But I digress..... two out of three sick kids. And in the meantime before I even got home yesterday I started getting sick with the "P&P" flu (just think about it). The man swears he is feeling sick too but he is going on about life as normal so I highly doubt he is doing much more than commisserating. :)
So that's my story. Be back when the fevers, coughing, snotting and P&P-ing have come to an end.

Things I learned today
1. You can have the nicest, most gentle dentist in the world....the appointment is still going to suck. Because it's the dentist, you know....no way to sugarcoat such torture.
2. My husband obviously doesn't know how to dress the kids. Coming home after said dentist appt at 1pm kids were still in pajamas.
3. I really do love hanging out with my sister...especially when it involves shopping. Sales are a bonus. (3 pairs of panties, eye shadow and mascara from VS = $15)
4. My kids enjoy inflicting serious injury upon one another. It's a given. I should have known.
5. I am goofy and I love it.

Wtf is up with the weather and the return of the dreaded Aunt...
What a title!
The weather......simply put, the weather is going to hell in a handbasket. It's Oct 15th and mother nature is on fast-forward. It is 40-45 degrees and raining, has been for two days. Over the weekend, there is a chance of SNOW. What was that?? Oh, yeah....SNOW. Are you kidding me? My van slid twice coming up the driveway with all the rain and leaves, what is going to happen when it is slick with the mushy wet stuff? Kind of anxious about that.

On Monday, I had to call the dr and make an appt for myself since I was missing my monthly visitor. She was three weeks late. Well my appt was this afternoon and lo and behold, she showed up on my doorstep at 8am. Isn't that how it always works? I still went to the dr. I have a big, bad cyst on my right ovary. No sex. What???? No sex? I go back in six weeks for another ultrasound and to talk about an endometrial ablation. Fun times. Just take all the female parts out already!
Not much else going on. My kids have been stuck inside the house for two days and are literally bouncing off the walls. A house with hardwood floors is a LOT louder than one with carpet, just in case anyone needs that snippet of info for future reference. Right now, it is time for baths and "foot jammies" followed by bedtime. (also known as time for momma to get a long, hot bath)

Starting from Scratch....
....and hopefully I will do better this time around!!
We have moved to Roanoke. We have a wonderful new home and everyone is settling in. It's Fall, so living up on a mountain adjacent to the Blue Ridge Parkway is AWESOME! It is so gorgeous here. My local grocery store has a Starbucks in it, so that is an added bonus. I spend my days wondering what I could possibly need from the store so that I can go get it and sneak a coffee as well. :) Yum!!
Not much else is going on right now...the man and I will be going to VA Beach next weekend for a training conference sans kids, so that is something to look forward to! Being a SAHM, I don't get out as much as I feel I should to maintain that very essential balance that so many moms struggle to acquire. Needless to say, ATC is my favorite event of the year. The location is different every year and always somewhere really nice. I get to dress up in a beautiful dress and get all made up and pretty too!! This year, as usual, I went to Belk to scope out the evening gowns, they usually have good sales. Lo and behold, I found a $190 dress marked down to $19.98. If that wasn't exciting enough, when I went to pay for it I donated a dollar to breast cancer research and got an additional 20% off. Nothing makes this momma's day like a good deal!
Back to the Fall thing.....I am going to attempt to post some pics soon. I will also be making pumpkin bread this week!!! Anything pumpkin makes it "officially" Fall!!!
